The WEDDE family in New Zealand descends from Heinrich Augustus Wedde, who according to his death certificate was born 6 Sept 1842 in Stolph, Prussia, son of Heinrich Wedde. We have an old letter "Your grandfather was from Dammerkau bei Koslin Pommern or Pomerania, once in Prussia now in Poland." He seems to have emigrated to New Zealand, possibly via South Africa, in the 1870s. Any chance of a connection?
