Hello,
I have enjoyed the stories and comments from those who have shared their
information. I don't have a lot of information on my family because my
grandfather died when my mother was 12 years old, but I will share what I have.
My grandfather, Franz Reinke was born 1867/69 in Stettin, Germany to John
Reinke and Johanna Mundt. John died, so Franz age 10 and his sister, Bertha age
13 were sent to America 26 August 1881 to Chicago, Illinois. Their Mother,
Johanna married Herman Fuhlbrugge, they had 4 children, Anna, Augusta, Martha &
Albert. Herman died, so his brother Albert sent for them to come to America.
They arrived in 1888, settling in Smithwick, S.D.
Franz md. Augusta Ahlgrimm 17 Dec 1895 at Oelricks, Fall River, S.D. Augusta's
parents were Johanne Frederick Christian Martin Ahlgrimm and Johanne Dorothea
Henrietta Burr. The Ahlgrimm families settled in Racine and Kenosha Wisconsin.
I think that some of our earlier ancestors came over and then sent for the
later ones to come because they could make a better life for themnselves.
These are the names I am looking for: AHLGRIMM, BURR, FUHLBRUGGE, REINKE.
May each of us work together to find our loved ones and have a connecting link.
