I would like to thank you by your interest in our family´s story and also of others
Pomeranian emigrants. I have some amazing news about a research that my
cousin Alice Tietböhl Toigo done on a lot of letters that my grandfather
Leopoldo Tietböhl sent to and received from Germany during almost three
decades (1920-1946). Based on this texts handwritten and quite difficult to
translate - even for an old german teacher that kindly did this job for us
(unfortunately our German is very poor) - we could do a link between a
german lineage and our grand grandfather Christian, the first Tietböhl to
come circa 1850 from Germany to this last Southern corner of Brazil . We
found out that a certain schumacher called Johann Cristoph Tietbohl born
March 11, 1754 in Alt Tellin, Pommern, was the grand grandfather of
Christian. This information was based in the registry of a Parish in Demmin
( you may see a copy of the documment attached ). It matched exactly with the
contents of Leopoldo´s letters. We are the 6th generation of this lneage.
The members of this generation are in the fourth or fifth decade of life,
therefore most of us has sons and some grandsons.
